This course is designed to enhance understanding of infection transmission, common infections, and how to differentiate among types of infections while developing an understanding of how to prevent infection. Learners will demonstrate proper hand-hygiene techniques, ensuring effective infection control practices. Learners will demonstrate effective steps for donning (DON) and doffing (DOFF) personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure personal and patient safety. In addition, learners will distinguish between Transmission-Based Precautions and Standard Precautions and implement the appropriate measures in clinical scenarios. Upon completion, learners will also be able to identify sources of Infection Control citations and access relevant information to stay updated on best practices.
What To Expect
This course is fully online, self-paced, and can be completed entirely on your phone. It contains the following six modules and you have the opportunity to retake assessments until you master your skills.

- Module 3: Chains of Infection
- Module 4: Precautions
- Module 5: Environment
- Module 6: Wrap-Up
You can expect to spend anywhere from 8-12 hours completing the entire course. Upon successful completion (80% on assessments), you will receive an award certificate indicating your specialty and a digital badge that is independently verifiable through Credly to share on social media.
