This four-hour refresher course strengthens the essential skills caregivers use every day when supporting residents living with memory loss. Through practical, resident-centered situations, learners will reinforce strategies for recognizing and responding to behavioral expressions, reducing distress, and promoting dignity, comfort, and emotional safety.
The course also reviews caregivers’ responsibilities for recognizing and reporting suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation and identifying changes in a resident’s behavior, health, or abilities that may require review of the individualized service plan. By refreshing these critical skills, caregivers can respond with greater confidence, support consistent person-centered care, and contribute to a safer environment for residents.
What To Expect
The online portion of this training is self-paced and mobile-friendly and can be completed on your phone. The training also includes a required onsite component where learners apply and demonstrate skills in person. The online course includes modules with assessments that may be retaken to support mastery of the required knowledge and skills.

Wrap-Up
You can expect to spend anywhere from 4-6 hours completing the entire course. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion, including a digital badge that recognizes your specialty. Share this badge on LinkedIn to showcase your achievement.
The curriculum aligns with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) memory care training requirements, has been approved by ADHS, and meets the applicable Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) requirements for memory care training.
