Respiratory Care CNA (RCNA)

This course is designed to enhance the CNA’s basic skills and terminology when caring for patients that require respiratory services such as supplemental oxygen, special respiratory equipment, tracheostomy care or ventilation through an artificial airway. The content that is covered falls within the CNA’s scope of practice and will prepare them to take on a role in a respiratory unit or in a ventilator capable facility.

What To Expect

This course is fully online and self-paced. It contains the following three modules and you have the opportunity to retake assessments until you master your skills.

• Module 1: Understanding Oxygen Delivery and Emergency Procedures
• Module 2: Artificial Airways and Ventilator Procedures
• Module 3: Communicating and Best Practices in Respiratory Care

You can expect to spend anywhere from 8-12 hours completing the entire course. Upon successful completion (80% on assessments), you will receive an award certificate indicating your specialty and a digital badge that is independently verifiable through Credly to share on social media.
