This course is designed to enhance the CNA’s understanding of infection transmission, common infections, and how to differentiate among types of infections while developing an understanding of how to prevent infection. Learners will demonstrate proper hand-hygiene techniques, ensuring effective infection control practices. Learners will demonstrate effective steps for donning (DON) and doffing (DOFF) personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure personal and patient safety. In addition, learners will distinguish between Transmission-Based Precautions and Standard Precautions and implement the appropriate measures in clinical scenarios. Upon completion, learners will also be able to identify sources of Infection Control citations and access relevant information to stay updated on best practices.
